Job Description
Mid-Level Cloud Architect with Cloud knowledge and experience to provide enterprise engineering, architecture, and integration support to inform the future state “To-Be” Architecture for NGA’s Commercial Cloud Enterprise (C2E) environment. As a member of the Enterprise Engineering & Architecture Group’s Lead Integrator Team, you will work alongside your C2E System Engineer teammates, Enterprise Engineers, Architects, Integrators, the Cloud PMO, and others to provide C2E acquisition integration assistance.
Duties include
In partnership with Expert and Senior C2E System Engineers, perform a variety of enterprise engineering analyses (e.g., C2E Vendor Comparisons of Service Offerings, End-to-End Enterprise Requirements Traceability); help to identify / define enterprise requirements and mature NGA’s Multiple Cloud / Integrated Platform as a Service (iPaaS) Architecture Patterns.
As an emerging thought leader, investigate and provide insights to the use of iPaaS as a scalable approach to manage and orchestrate a multiple cloud environment, helping to assess a range of implementation options with your C2E System Engineer teammates.
Help identify and document IT Risks/Issues/Opportunities related to C2E engineering and integration.
Assist in the development of briefings and engineering products for Agency Engineering and Architecture Review Boards, Readiness Reviews, and various Acquisition Milestones.
Participate in Mission Partner engagements to understand C2E approach/direction; work with you C2E System Engineer teammates to identify services that NGA can leverage for efficiencies, coordinate dependent systems migrations across agencies and multiple clouds, and document the associated architectures.
Provide technical input and assessment to address C2E technical and business concerns.
Participate in cross-Organization efforts to remain informed, consistent, and working towards common goals (e.g., Advancing architecture-patterns to the Enterprise (Multiple Cloud, PaaS/iPaaS environment).
As a Mid-Level C2E Systems Engineer, you must have
Cloud knowledge through hands-on experience with a Cloud Service Provider(s) (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, Google) and/or Cloud training.
Understanding and demonstrated experience with engineering processes (e.g., Architecture, Requirements, Integration, Test, and/or Transition).
Eagerness to learn under the mentorship of Expert and Senior C2E System Engineers, gaining hands-on enterprise engineering and architecture experience with the C2E, iPaaS, and other transformational initiatives.
Interest and passion to grow engineering thought leadership and planning skills.
Education and Experience:
Required
6-12 years' experience.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.
6 years of technical experience is required. If the 6 years' experience is as a Cloud Architect, it may be considered in lieu of degree.
6 years of working experience in cloud-based systems architecting.
Education and Experience:
Desired
Experience with Cloud Service Provider(s) (AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, and/or Google)
Familiarity with multiple cloud concepts
Experience / working knowledge of Platform-As-A-Service (PaaS)
Experience / working knowledge of DevSecOps principles and practices
Experience / working knowledge of the Systems Engineering lifecycle
Experience with agile project management tools, such as Jira and Confluence
Cloud Certification(s)
Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification(s).
Security Clearance:
Active TS/SCI and the willingness to sit for a polygraph, if needed
